Mirabell Palace (Mirabellplatz, 5020 Salzburg, Austria) — Mirabell Palace is a historic building in the city of Salzburg, Austria (built in 1606 by prince-archbishop Wolf Dietrich for his beloved Salome Alt). In previous times, the likes of Leopold Mozart and his children, Wolfgang and Nannerl, made music here. The palace with its gardens is a listed cultural heritage monument and part of the Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg UNESCO World Heritage Site. This palace’s gardens, along with the Felsenreitschule and Nonnberg Convent, was one of the most important shooting locations from the famous Hollywood musical film “The Sound of Music”.
