BUS –Bern Mobil runs an efficient bus and tram network in this relatively small European city. Tickets can be purchased from machines at all stops. For visitors staying at a hotel in Bern, you’ll receive a “Bern Ticket” (which offers free use of the city’s public transportation). That ticket covers all Bern Mobil services (including the Marzili and Gurten funiculars – within zones 100 and 101, which is the city center and immediate nearby areas. It also covers your journey to and from Bern Airport). That ticket does not cover Moonliner buses or services beyond zones 100 and 101.

Moonliner night buses transport late night passengers from Bahnhofplatz two or three times between midnight and 4:00 am (on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights). Fares range from CHF 6 and 27 (depending on distance). See its website for more details: www.moonliner.ch/tarife

Bernmobil is part of a tariff network called Libero comprising the Bern, Biel, Burgdorf, and Solothurn regions. Libero includes all public transport modes, and offers several special discount tickets for children and young people, seniors, families, and more. Locals purchase the Libero-issued Swisspass for their daily transport needs. See their website for rates that locals pay to get around via bus or tram in Bern and outerlying areas:
